The macallan edition 4 Bold on the nose with well-rounded notes of honey, toffee, crisp apples, citrus zest, and nutmeg. Oak comes in at the end of the nose, contrasting the wood and floral undertones. On the palate, you’ll also get rounded honey, sweet toffee, and citrus with a sweet vanilla finish.

- It is a well-balanced dram, constructed to show the best of each cask type selected to create the whisky: European and American oak refill butts and hogsheads, as well as butts, puncheons and hogsheads specifically from Vasmya, Diego Martin, Jose y Miguel Martin and Tevasa.

Following distillation, The Macallan distillers remove the heads and tails of the whisky and collect approximately 16% of the spirit to fill into casks for maturation. This “cut,” which is among the highest of any Scottish distillery, results in a more full-bodied and rich whisky.
